The Sun claimed that on a flight Johnny Depp hurled
abuses at Amber Heard following a fight over James Franco, with whom she did
the film The Adderall Diaries.
On Wednesday, London’s High
Court heard the controversial case involving Johnny Depp-Amber Heard and the
newspaper The Sun. Details emerged of Depp kicking and slapping his ex-wife
Amber Heard in a drunken rage brought on because of his belief that Heard was
having an extra-marital affair with her The Adderall Diaries co-star, James
Franco. The alleged incident took place on a private flight from Boston to Los
Angeles. In his libel trial against Britain’s newspaper The Sun over an article describing Hollywood star Johnny Depp as a “wife-beater”, Depp gave evidence and denied
the attack on Heard, and instead accused Heard of being the aggressor whom he
tried to calm down.
Court hears the relationship
between Depp and Heard in the trial:
In the first two days of the three-week trial, the court heard about Depp’s relationship with Amber Heard whom he married in 2015. The court also heard evidence about the star’s drug use and heavy drinking. Almost 15 months post their marriage; Heard had filed for divorce. About the alleged scuffle on the flight, the Pirates of the Caribbean star admitted that he was surprised that Amber Heard had agreed to feature in the film with James Franco, as previously she had described him as “creepy” for making relentless sexual advances towards her.
The Sun’s lawyer claims that
Johnny Depp kicked and slapped Amber Heard:
Giving out explicit details,
Sasha Wass, The Sun’s lawyer, said that one the flight, Depp screamed at Heard
and said that she likes having sex on film sets, abused her, and called her a
“go-getter slut and a whore”. Wass further added that Depp in a “blind drunken
rage” kicked Heard at the back as she tried to distance herself away from him
and slapped her across the face. Depp however, denied the accusations and told
the court,” I am not a violent person, especially with women.”
