Jolly LLB 3 Struggles with Poor Advance Bookings

With less than 48 hours remaining for its worldwide release, Subhash Kapoor’s legal comedy drama Jolly LLB 3 is facing an uphill battle at the box office. Despite featuring popular actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in lead roles, the film’s advance booking numbers paint a concerning picture for its opening weekend prospects.

Weak Box Office Performance Despite Star Power

As of Wednesday evening, Jolly LLB 3’s advance booking gross stands at a modest Rs 1.26 crore, reaching Rs 3.02 crore when including block bookings. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has managed to sell only 46,438 tickets across 5,145 shows nationwide. The majority of bookings have come from urban centers, with the National Capital Region contributing Rs 42.49 lakh and Mumbai adding Rs 13.1 lakh to the total collection.

The lukewarm response is particularly surprising given the success of the franchise’s previous installments. However, industry experts point to several factors that may be dampening audience enthusiasm, including the current dry spell in Bollywood and Akshay Kumar’s recent string of underperforming films.

Industry Challenges and Audience Skepticism

The film’s struggle to generate buzz reflects broader challenges facing the Hindi film industry. With blockbusters becoming increasingly rare and audiences becoming more selective about their cinema choices, even established franchises are finding it difficult to guarantee success. Akshay Kumar’s recent box office performances have also contributed to audience skepticism, with many moviegoers appearing to have lost confidence in his projects.

Unless Jolly LLB 3 receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from early screenings, the film faces an uncertain future at the box office. The legal comedy will need to rely heavily on word-of-mouth marketing and critical acclaim to overcome its weak pre-release momentum.
