Secret Wedding Angle Emerges in Ketan Agarwal Murder Case

Pune Rural Police are investigating fresh leads in the murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal, including claims that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, secretly married her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, months before Agarwal’s death. Goyal (20) and Chaudhary (22) are accused of pushing the 25-year-old off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18, and both remain in judicial custody.

Investigators Verify Secret Marriage Claim

A senior police official said chat analysis between Goyal and Chaudhary suggests they had secretly married, and officers are now checking whether the union was legally registered. The accused reportedly spoke about the alleged marriage during questioning, prompting police to scrutinize their phone conversations further. Authorities are also trying to establish whether the marriage, if it occurred, took place before or after Goyal’s engagement to Agarwal on February 19.

What was initially recorded as an accidental fall has since been reclassified as a planned murder, with police alleging the couple conspired and even rehearsed the crime because Agarwal had become an obstacle to their relationship.

Digital Evidence Deepens the Case

Investigators found that Goyal’s phone had searches related to the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, a similar cliff-death case from Meghalaya, prior to Agarwal’s death. A recovered Snapchat message from May, allegedly sent by Goyal to a friend requesting Aadhaar details for wedding travel bookings, hinted the marriage would “never take place.” Police plan to question the friend to determine if she had prior knowledge of the alleged plot and are verifying the message’s authenticity.

In a separate development, Agarwal’s 71-year-old grandfather, Devichand Agarwal, died of cardiac arrest at a Pune hospital over the weekend, a family member confirmed.
