Key Takeaways:

  • Actor Yash’s popular Kannada film KGF’s second instalment brought him widespread recognition.
  • The second film, KGF Chapter 2, was released to a larger audience and ended up being one of the highest-grossing films in India.

According to a recent interview with producer Vijay Kiragandur, actor Yash, who gained national notoriety by releasing the second instalment of his successful Kannada film KGF, will be replaced in the upcoming films in the franchise. According to Vijay, the third instalment of the movie won’t start production until 2025.

KGF Chapter 1 and KGF Chapter 2 featured Yash in the role of Rocky Bhai. The second movie, KGF Chapter 2, had a wider release and also became one of the highest-grossing movies in India, including the Hindi-speaking region after KGF Chapter 1 proved to be a surprise hit in non-Kannada regions.

According to Vijay, who spoke to a portal, “The KGF franchise has the potential for another hero to take on Rocky Bhai’s role after the fifth instalment, just like the James Bond series, where the heroes frequently change.” The portal Metrosaga also quoted him saying that because Salaar is Prashant Neel’s top priority, KGF 3 won’t start production until 2025.

In addition to KGF, Vijay founded Hombale Films, the studio behind blockbusters like Kantara. The market for these films grew due to the enormous success of regional stories over the previous two years.

In an interview with PTI in December, Vijay discussed his plans for future film investments and said, “We intend to invest 3,000 crores for the next 5 years in the entertainment industry in India.
