KRAFTON, the gaming giant, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Gujarat and TransStadia Technologies, marking a significant move to invigorate the technology, gaming, and esports landscape in Gujarat.
This strategic collaboration aligns with KRAFTON’s mission to foster India’s gaming and technology ecosystem while leveraging Gujarat’s conducive environment for growth.
Investment and Development Initiatives by KRAFTON:
Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “By combining Gujarat’s vibrant growth environment and our expertise in game development and esports, we are set to create opportunities for talent development, infrastructure enhancement, and community engagement.”
KRAFTON has demonstrated its commitment to the Indian market by investing $160 million in startups since 2021 and plans to inject an additional $150 million over the next 2-3 years.
As part of this commitment, KRAFTON launched the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator program, which aims to nurture game development talent in India through funding, mentorship, and resources.
State’s Enthusiastic Endorsement:
The government of Gujarat has welcomed the collaboration, citing its alignment with the state’s vision for digital and economic growth.
Harsh Sanghavi, minister for home, sports, youth, and cultural activities, remarked, “The government of Gujarat will benefit from this collaboration with KRAFTON as it will undoubtedly catalyze our efforts to transform Gujarat into an indigenous and interactive hub for e-sports.”
Event Hosting and Community Building:
In addition to the strategic partnership, KRAFTON India recently hosted BMPS 2023 (Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series) in Ahmedabad in collaboration with the city administration.
This event underscores the joint efforts to nurture the burgeoning gaming ecosystem, providing a platform for talent development and positioning Gujarat as a prominent destination for the global gaming community.
