The health of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s health, who is still in the intensive care unit of a Mumbai hospital, is improving, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Sunday.

Tope stated that the Breach Candy Hospital would update the veteran singer’s health after speaking with her family members.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Pratit Samdani, an associate professor at Breach Candy Hospital, told PTI that Mangeshkar is still in the ICU and being treated.

On Thursday, Rachana Shah, Mangeshkar’s niece, said that the singer is doing well. And that the media should respect the family’s privacy.

Mangeshkar, one of the greatest singers in Indian cinema, began her career at 13 in 1942. And had over 30,000 songs to her credit in several Indian languages.
