Gujarat this year received a good amount of rainfall in all parts. Kutch is already running in surplus, and many parts of Saurashtra are also coming near 100% rainfall in 2022. If you compare last year and this year, 2022 rainfall in Gujarat has been excellent. One more good round of rain will cover significant parts of the Dams, giving relief to Gujarat’s people.

If precipitation remains till the 7th night, we might see NDRF teams shifting too many parts of Saurashtra for rescue as this round of rain looks dangerous. If we believe in precipitation, some areas might get rain over 20inches which can cause a flash flood-like situation.

IMD will surely give alerts which will help Govt body to look into the matter. If the situation remains the same and the system becomes active in Gujarat, we might see torrential rain from 9th to 13th August in many parts of Saurashtra. It’s time to check the drainage system in Gujarat, especially in Saurashtra, because precipitation is not looking suitable for Saurashtra. Govt should take precautionary steps so that people don’t suffer.
