Manika Vishwakarma, India’s representative at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, has been eliminated from the competition and failed to make it to the top 12. The political science and economics student from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, advanced through the initial rounds but couldn’t impress the judges during the crucial swimsuit segment, ending her journey at the prestigious international pageant.

Swimsuit Round Proves Challenging for Indian Contestant

Vishwakarma’s elimination came during the swimsuit round, where she wore a white monokini adorned with golden details. Despite her initial success in reaching the top 30 among a competitive field that included representatives from countries like China, Colombia, Thailand, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Cuba, she couldn’t secure a spot in the prestigious top 12 round. The swimsuit segment appeared to be the deciding factor in the judges’ final decision regarding her participation.

Top 12 Finalists and Future Host Announcement

The competition has progressed with twelve finalists now competing in the evening gown round. The advancing countries include Guadeloupe, Colombia, Cuba, Malta, Côte d’Ivoire, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Chile, Thailand, the Philippines, China, and Venezuela. Meanwhile, pageant organizers announced that Puerto Rico will host Miss Universe 2026, marking the country’s third time hosting the prestigious competition. The 75th edition will showcase the next generation of beauty pageant representatives competing for the crown.
