Ex-Prime Minister says PM must be mindful of the
implications of his words and China shouldn’t be allowed to take advantage of
them for vindication.
On Monday, former Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh spoke on the Ladakh
stand-off for the
first time and warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the same. He has urged PM Modi to be mindful of the implications his words
may have and China should not be allowed to take advantage of
those words to vindicate their position on the subject.
The Ex-PM reminded the
government that diplomacy or decisive leadership cannot be substituted by
disinformation. Mr Singh also said that comforting pliant lies can at present hide
the truth but cannot suppress it forever; eventually, it will come out. He
said,” We call upon the Prime Minister and the government to rise to the
occasion, to ensure justice for Col. B. Santosh Babu and our jawans who have made the ultimate sacrifice and resolutely
defended our territorial integrity. To do any less would be a historic betrayal
of the people’s faith.”
Ex-PM Manmohan Singh says PM
Modi’s words have serious implications:
On 15th June, 20 Indian Army personnel were martyred in a brutal attack by the Chinese military in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. Manmohan Singh believes the government’s decisions and actions will have huge implications in the history of the world and on the future generations as well. The former PM said,” The Prime Minister must always be mindful of the implications of his words and declarations on our Nation’s security as also strategic and territorial interests. The PM cannot allow them to use his words as a vindication of their position and must ensure that all organs of the government work together to tackle this crisis and prevent it from escalating further.”
Manmohan Singh also called for
being united in our response to China’s brazen threat.
