Marco Jansen’s Gravity-Defying Catch Stuns SRH in IPL 2026 Thriller

Marco Jansen’s Gravity-Defying Catch Stuns SRH in IPL 2026 Thriller

The sheer physical presence of Marco Jansen proved to be the X-factor for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) during their high-stakes IPL 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) this Saturday. Standing at nearly seven feet tall, the South African all-rounder turned a certain six into a spectacular dismissal, leaving the Mullanpur crowd and commentators in disbelief. The moment occurred during the 14th over, when Ishan Kishan looked set to dominate the closing stages of the innings.

A Freakish Feat at the Boundary

The dismissal of Ishan Kishan was a testament to Jansen’s unique athleticism. Facing Arshdeep Singh, Kishan connected with a full-length delivery, sending the ball soaring toward the deep mid-wicket fence. While the hit appeared destined for the stands, Jansen tracked the ball with surgical precision. Covering significant ground to his right, he leaped into the air and plucked the ball out of thin air with a casual, one-handed grab just inches from the boundary rope. The effort ended Kishan’s promising cameo of 27 off 17 balls and halted SRH’s momentum at a crucial juncture.

Shashank Singh Triggers SRH Collapse

While Jansen provided the highlight of the match, it was part-timer Shashank Singh who initiated the Punjab fightback. Earlier, SRH openers Abhishek Sharma (74 off 28) and Travis Head (38 off 23) had threatened to post a record-breaking total, racing to 120 runs in just eight overs. However, Shashank dismantled the “Orange Army” party by removing both set openers in a single over. Despite a steadying 39 from Heinrich Klaasen, the Punjab bowling unit clawed back into the game, ultimately restricting Hyderabad to 219-6—a formidable total, but one that felt significantly lower than the 250-plus score projected during the opening blitz.
