The fire incident at furniture storage in Gujarat’s Navsari arrives days after a massive fire at a gaming zone died at least 27 people in Rajkot.

A massive fire broke out in a furniture warehouse in Alipor village, located in Gujarat’s Navsari district, on Thursday afternoon.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown, and firefighting efforts are currently underway to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries so far.

Recent Fire Tragedy in Rajkot

This incident follows closely on the heels of a devastating fire at the TRP Gaming Zone in Rajkot, which resulted in the deaths of at least 27 people, including children.

The tragedy has sparked significant public outrage and led to legal actions seeking accountability from local authorities.

In response to the Rajkot fire, a plea has been filed seeking the registration of criminal cases against several high-ranking officials, including IPS and IAS officers who were transferred or suspended following the incident.

A court in Rajkot has requested a report from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on this matter.

The Gujarat government has made several administrative changes post-tragedy, transferring then Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava and Municipal Commissioner Anand Patel. Additionally, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhirkumar Desai and Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vidhi Choudhary have also been transferred.

Arrests and Investigations

Among those who perished in the Rajkot fire was Kiritsinh Jadeja, one of the partners of the TRP Gaming Zone, who had been named as an accused in the case. Jadeja was apprehended on the Rajkot-Kalavad road on Tuesday night.

To date, the police have arrested four individuals, including three partners and the manager of the TRP Gaming Zone.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been actively investigating the case, having questioned over 25 individuals and seized various documents related to the incident. This thorough investigation aims to uncover the root causes and assign responsibility for the tragic event.
