Mayawati Successor no one personal she herself says in her bsp meeting

Lucknow:
On Sunday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from all party positions, appointing his father Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as national coordinators in his place. Mayawati also made it clear that she would never name a political successor in her lifetime, emphasizing that the party and its movement come first, and personal relationships are secondary.

This move marks a significant shift as Mayawati had previously sacked Akash Anand last year, only to later reinstate him and name him her political heir. However, the recent decision to remove him from his roles was accompanied by sharp criticism of his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth. Mayawati accused Siddharth of dividing the BSP into factions and undermining its unity. She further stated that Siddharth had also caused harm to Akash Anand’s political career.

Last month, Mayawati had expelled Ashok Siddharth from the party due to factionalism and anti-party activities. In her statement, she reiterated that the interests of the BSP and its movement take precedence over familial ties, underscoring that personal relationships should never interfere with the party’s goals.
