On the 125th birth anniversary of National Shire Zaverchand Meghani, the Government of Gujarat has decided to develop the memories associated with her as an important place.

 For this, a circuit development project has been undertaken, which will be useful for literary lovers, researchers, and future generations worldwide. 

Recently, the state government announced that a circuit connecting the birth memorial and Meghani memorial places at Chotila had been given as a big gift to Meghani lovers in the next budget.

 Under which all the places associated with Meghani will be developed, and a museum will be built in their memory.

At present, Rs. 10 crores has been allotted, out of which Rs. 5 crores will be spent behind the museum. Work has also been started by the Department of Tourism and Sports Youth Service and Culture. 

More than one section is active to create a museum in Chotila, the birthplace of Meghani. A high-level committee has also been formed to implement the scheme, comprising senior officials, writers and the grandson of Zaverchand Meghanindha.

 A total of 2200 square meters of land, including the historic building where Meghani was born and the old government quarters near it, have been acquired in the places to be developed in her memory. There are plans to build a separate memorial complex here, for which work orders have also been issued.

Meghani Sahitya Samput of 80 books will be donated to 300 government libraries in the state.

Today 28th August, is the birth anniversary of Zaverchand Meghani. 

On this memorable occasion, a beautiful book exhibition of Meghani Sahitya has been organized at Chotila Taluka Library from 26th to 29th August. At the same time, the place of birth is the program of Pushpajanli.

 Apart from this, at the state level, there is a program to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary at Mahatma Mandir Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. An e-public offering of 80 books will be distributed in 300 libraries across the state.

 In addition, the new building of Gujarat Sahitya Akademi is to be constructed in Gandhinagar. This building will also be named Meghani.

Now Chotila Yatradham will also be known as Cultural Pilgrimage: Pinaki Meghani.The complex will include a state-of-the-art audio-visual multimedia exhibition hall depicting Meghani’s life, a drama film showing sound light effects, a library, a reading and awaiting for hall for visitors. The Panchal area is the land of the saints.

 So there will also be a separate exhibition depicting local folk culture and folklife. In addition, there are regular plans to connect the new generation with the cultural heritage at Chotila, for which a hall will also be built.

Not long ago, this historic school was upgraded at a cost. But it takes time for this school to be given a historic status and developed.

Zaverchand Meghani passed away at the age of 51

As soon as we hear the name of the national shire Zaverchand Meghani, “It is in my mother’s haiya, podhanta podhanta, we drank the colour of saffron; Born on 28 August 1896 in Chotila village of Jhalawar, Zaverchand Meghani passed away on 9 March 1947 at Botad at the age of 51.

 Some time ago, the government implemented the idea of ​​declaring all the schools in which the great state talents had studied, including primary education as national schools, i.e. historical schools, and maintaining them properly.

An innovative experiment is being carried out to start literature tourism by developing the birthplace of national shire Zaverchand Meghani and various places associated with her immortal creation.

 In which places witnessing memorable creations like Saurashtra’s Rasdhar and Sorathi Baharvatia will get a new colour. In the first phase, the state government has allocated Rs. 2 crore budget has been allocated. 

At that time, whether from Patti taluka or Jhalawar, but not a single person from Gujarat may know that the national shire Zaverchand Meghani had received his primary education at Kumar School in Zinjuwada village of Patti taluka.
