Following the company’s announcement of additional product sales in the country, Minecraft is removed from mobile app stores in Russia.

A popular block-building game, Minecraft has reportedly been remove from Russia’s Google Play and Apple App Stores by developer Mojang. The declaration just one day after the company halted sales of new products in the country.

Although Microsoft has constructed to make an official announcement. Numerous Russian media outlets have reported that the game is no longer available in the respective mobile stores.

However, a quick comparison of either store region reveals a demo version available for free download.

In the aftermath of Ukraine’s political unrest, company President Brad Smith announced late last week. That the company would suspend all sales to Russia. “Like the rest of the world, we are horrified, enraged, and saddened by the images and news coming from Ukraine’s war. And we condemn Russia’s unjustified, unprovoked, and unlawful invasion,” he said.

At this point, it is unclear whether Minecraft’s absence from the app above stores is intentional or related to these measures. As the invasion of Ukraine continues to dominate global headlines, Russia has responded to sanctions by blocking or removing access to many popular western services, including Facebook and Twitter.
