Nepal hits by 6.0 magnitude earthquakez: On Sunday morning, Nepal was jolt by a magnitude 6.0 earthquake.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring also Research Centre. The quake occurred 147 kilometers east of Kathmandu, Nepal, at 8.13 a.m. IST, near Martim Birta in the Khotang district (NEMRC).
So far, no any damage or casualties have been report.
The recent earthquakes in Nepal have resulted in an unprecedented loss of life and property. Necessitating the need for well-thought-out policy measures to manage such disasters.
On April 25, 2015, a high-intensity earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale struck central Nepal between Kathmandu and Pokhara. It is estimate that 8,964 people were died, and nearly 22,000 were injure.
The earthquake, known as the Gorkha earthquake, also shook several cities in north India. And tremors were felt in Lahore, Pakistan, Lhasa, Tibet, and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Kathmandu’s international airport was close as a result of the earthquake. An avalanche on Mount Everest was also cause by the quake, killing 22 people. On May 12, 2015, a major aftershock occurred, with the epicenter of the earthquake near the Chinese border between Kathmandu and Mount Everest. Over 200 people were kill and over 2,500 were injure in this earthquake, according to estimates.
In 1934, Nepal experienced its worst earthquake on record. It had a magnitude of 8.0 and destroyed Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan.
