Dia Mirza, who has for two decades has been part of the movie industry, has developed lifelong friendships.
Since winning the Miss Asia Pacific award in 2000, Dia made her movie debut in 2001 in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
Apart from films, Dia is also passionate about environmental conservation.
Dia Mirza, who has for two decades has been part of the
movie industry, has developed lifelong friendships, but she said she never took
advantage of her personal equations as well as tried to use them to obtain
roles. She added that her friendships as well as professional life are kept
apart.
Dia was featured in a supporting role last year in
Thappad’s Anubhav Sinha. Prior to that, she has been seen as Sanjay Dutt’s wife
Maanayata in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju.
Dia
during an interview with TOI:
Dia said, speaking to The Times of India, “I made
friends across the way with people with whom I worked as well as found common
ground.” They are friendships that last for a long time, but I never used
that connection to demand a part in a movie. I keep apart the job I do and my
friendships.’
Dia’s
movie debut in 2001:
Since winning the Miss Asia Pacific award in 2000, Dia
made her movie debut in 2001 in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. Also at the time of
its release, the film, featuring R Madhavan alongside her, was not really a
commercial success but it has since acquired a cult following.
Divya
made her digital debut in 2019:
In movies such as Dum, Parineeta, Dus as well as Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Dia also featured. In 2019, she made her virtual debut with the Zee5 series Kaafir, wherein she performed Pakistani women who, after being mistaken for a spy, ends herself on the Indian side of the border and has been jailed for eight years.
Apart from films, Dia is also passionate about
environmental conservation. She encouraged fans to ‘help heal our world’ in her
New Year message.

safe and prosperous 2021. Make a single resolution to help our world recover.
Follow a diet focused mainly on vegetables.
Don’t let more than 5mins of your baths last. Cultivate
plants. Refuse all plastics for single-use. Turn to alternatives that are
normal. At home, recycle and segregate waste. Refuse, reuse, recycle, decrease
intake. Healthy people are a good world,’ she wrote.
