New policy: Railways will now make money by selling station names.

• The names of the companies will be written along with the terms of the stations.
•  Railways will generate income other than rent.

The names of the private companies will now be written on the railway station along with the names of the stations.

 It has also been decided to have this name along with the pillars inside the railway station and the junction board. Railways are introducing a new policy to generate revenue other than fares. 

Under this scheme, which has been declared as a non-fair revenue scheme, the names of government or private nominated companies will be allowed to be written on the front or back of the name of the railway station.

 Railways will invite prices through open tender in this regard. The scheme will develop incomes for the railways and provide branding opportunities to the companies.

The railways had implemented a plan to lease stations with more miniature trains and allow citizens to hold social events on the station’s platform and generate revenue through it. Still, no application was received for any platform or station in the Vadodara division.

What will be taken care of under the new policy?

• Opportunity for reputable companies to brand with the name of the railway station.
• Names cannot be written in capital letters longer than the name of the railway station.
• A license will be issued for 1 to 3 years.
• Tobacco, alcohol, or offensive manufacturing companies are not included.
• Religion, caste, the personal name will not be written.
• Senior DCM has to be contacted for tender.
• Two words can be written before or after the name of the station.
• Tickets, announcement system, the name will not be written on the website.

The name of the railway station will not be changed

The names of the railway stations will not be altered, and passengers will not be inconvenienced. The tender is yet to be clarified, and the price, as well as the dates, are yet to come.
