Nick Jonas Reveals First DM Sent to Priyanka Chopra

Nick Jonas has finally revealed the very first direct message he sent Priyanka Chopra on Twitter, ten years after their love story began. The singer shared the screenshot on his podcast, Hey Jonas, where Priyanka Chopra Jonas appeared as a guest, giving fans a rare glimpse into how the couple’s romance actually started before they began dating.

How Their Story Began

Nick explained that it was his brother Kevin who first pointed him toward Priyanka Chopra’s work. Kevin had spotted a billboard for her Hollywood debut series, Quantico, and asked Nick if he had seen it. Curious, Nick went home and looked her up on Twitter to check whether she followed him back. Priyanka, however, offered a slightly different version of events when recalling the story on the podcast.

The First Message

The screenshot showed Nick’s opening message, in which he mentioned hearing from mutual acquaintances that the two should meet and asked if she would be in Los Angeles anytime soon. Priyanka’s reply referenced a mutual friend, Graham, and suggested moving the conversation to a more private channel since her team had access to her Twitter account.

Their online conversation eventually turned into texting, and the pair started dating about a year and a half later before getting engaged. Nick also spoke about his fascination with Bollywood gossip, admitting he often knows industry news before Priyanka does, partly because he quietly follows entertainment accounts on Instagram. The couple, who married at Umaid Bhawan Palace, welcomed their daughter Malti Marie via surrogacy in 2022. Priyanka is currently working on several projects, including Varanasi, The Bluff, and the second season of Citadel.
