‘Fast Trains’ will be launched by Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (NMRC) from Monday to minimize travel time for passengers on the Aqua Line between Noida and Greater Noida. These trains can bypass stations that have low ridership during peak times and thus save travel time for passengers. In December 2020, the Aqua Line experienced an average daily passenger number of 7,915.

All you need to learn about ‘Fast Trains’ is here:

1. Metro train services between terminal stations – Sector 51 and Depot stations – will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. will be covered by this scheme.

2. Of the 21 platforms on the Aqua Line, such “fast trains” can miss ten stations throughout peak hours.

3. Sector-50, Sector-101, Sector-144, Sector-145, Sector-81, Sector-83, Sector-143, Sector-146, Sector-147 and Sector-148 Metro Lines are also the stations that will be missed.

4. At those stations and for these stations, QR tickets would not be available during “Fast Trains” running periods.

5. The Aqua Line has an average running time of 45 minutes 43 seconds from Sector 51 Metro station of Noida towards Depot station of Greater Noida and vice versa (one way). This one will be shortened to 36 minutes and 40 seconds, saving commuters about nine minutes of journey time.

6. The running time is currently 37 minutes among Sector 51 Metro Station and Pari Chowk Metro Station. It will be reduced to 30 seconds and 28 minutes.

7. The duration of trains will remain the same from Monday through Friday, i.e., 7.5 minutes throughout peak hours and 10 minutes during non-peak hours.

8. Aqua Train lines will continue to operate on weekends at a pace of 15 minutes, without skipping stations.

9. Signs and occasional announcements about the project are being produced at all the Aqua Line Metro stations.
