to ramp up cybersecurity policy, and urged the nation to become “Atmanirbhar”.

Day speech, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi called for an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant
India). PM also launched the National Digital Health Mission, under which every
Indian will get a unique health ID.

PM Modi made his third-longest speech (near 90 minutes) from the Red Fort in New Delhi, to mark the 74th Independence Day celebrations. He put forward the mantra of “Make For World” along with “Make In India” and “Vocal For Local” initiatives. PM Modi said,” We should appreciate our local products, if we don’t do this then our products will not get the opportunity to do better and will not get encouraged. I agree that there are challenges for Atmanirbhar Bharat and they will increase if there is global competitiveness. However, if there are lakhs of challenges, then the country also has the power which gives crores of solutions.”
PM Modi boosts the healthcare
sector with “One Nation One Health Card” scheme:
PM Modi launched the National
Digital Health Mission and
said it was the need of the hour and the “One Nation One Health Card” scheme
will enhance the healthcare facilities and services for the general public. He
coined it as a new revolution in India’s health sector and stated that under
the mission, every Indian would get a unique health ID. A person’s medical
records, diagnosis, treatments, and tests will be digitalized and saved as a
database that will have access from anywhere in the country.
PM Modi says 3 COVID-19 vaccine
candidates being developed in India:
PM Modi also revealed that
India is currently developing three COVID-19 vaccine candidates, and after the
conclusion of the third stage of human trials, scientists will green-light for
mass production and distribution, the roadmap for which has already been
planned. He also praised the grit and determination of COVID warriors in the
country’s fight against the novel COVID-19 virus.
A Committee to revise the
minimum age for women marriages in India, set up:
PM Modi further stated that to
provide equal opportunities for employment to women, a committee has been set
up for reconsidering the minimum age for marriage of women in the nation. PM
Modi reiterated the importance of abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu &
Kashmir and told the residents of the states that development will be given
credence above all.
