According to rumors, OnePlus will release a foldable smartphone based on the Oppo Find N.

OnePlus is reportedly planning to release its first foldable smartphone soon. OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau shared images of a hinge on Twitter on Friday in a new update, hinting at the development of a foldable smartphone without confirming the name or other details. In the foldable smartphone category, Samsung currently has an early lead. Xiaomi recently released the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. The Moto Razr 2022 is also now available in China. Oppo, OnePlus’ sister company, also announced its presence in the foldable smartphone market at the end of year with the unveiling of the Find N foldable.

Pete Lau posted photos on Twitter with the caption, “What do you think this is?” This could be the upcoming OnePlus phone’s folding screen hinge mechanism. Although the company has not confirmed anything, it is widely assum that the OnePlus Fold will be release soon. It is expect to ship with Android 13.

So far, OnePlus has not revealed any information about the foldable. However, it may have some similarities to Oppo’s Find N, which was release in December 2021.

Oppo Find N has a 7.1-inch inward folding display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 5.49-inch cover OLED display. It is powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and can accommodate up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In addition, Oppo Find N has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. Other key features of the phone include a 32-megapixel camera on the outer screen, a 32-megapixel camera on the inner screen, and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC wired charging support.

According to a Display Supply Chain Consultants report, Samsung currently dominates the foldable smartphone market (DSCC).
