Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday morning, addressing a rally in Bihar’s Darbhanga, that it was necessary to take preventive measures against coronavirus while engaging in the election. Voting in the state for phase 1 of the assembly polls is underway.

PM praised Bihar:

The PM also praised the people of Bihar for setting up the Temple of the Ram. “I congratulate the people of the land of Mother Sita on setting up the Ram Temple,” he said, adding that the government’s aim was to fulfil all the promises that were made in its manifesto.

By saying that their priority was only on commission and not on communication, he criticized the earlier governments. 

“A few days back, Kosi Mahasetu was inaugurated. Facilities such as these enable farmers, traders, students, etc. with less time to cover long distances. This helps to improve jobs and helps to grow the state, “he said.

 

 

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar stated: 

On occasion, Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar was also present. He invited the PM to the state also said that he was thankful for the measures he took to counter the spread of Covid-19 however for the trains for migrant workers in the states running to and from Bihar.

 “Because of these measures, the Covid-19 recovery rate in Bihar is over 95 per cent,” he said. He also honoured the PM for his decision to set up the All India Medical Sciences Institute (AIIMS) in Darbhanga.

At 7 am on Wednesday, seventy-one of the existing 243 constituencies in Bihar went to vote. In the high-stake fight, the opposition comprising RJD, Congress, CPI, CPI(M), and CPI(ML) will take over the ruling NDA coalition comprising JD(U), BJP, Vikassheel Insaan Party, and Hindustani Awam Morcha.

Special Chief Ministerial Candidate of the Grand Alliance and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will contest for the seat of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. 

On November 3 and 7, respectively, the second and third phases of the referendum will take place.

 On November 10, the findings will be announced.
