Paresh Rawal will play a character who is Bengali in his upcoming movie. In The Storyteller by Ananth Mahadevan, the actor plays a narrator.

The movie is based on Golpo Bolo Tarini Khuro, a short story by renowned writer-director Satyajit Ray. His persona is that of a storyteller employed by a wealthy Gujarati businessman to treat his insomnia.

The Storyteller premised at the 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in October 2022 and starred Adil Hussain, Revathy, and Tannishtha Chatterjee.

Recently, Paresh mentioned that he would portray a Bengali character in the adaptation because he had done so in other roles but never for a feature film. He had also performed in Pagla Ghoda, a Bengali play by Badal Sarkar.

The actor received criticism for his remarks about Bengalis last month while running his campaign in Gujarat. He had reportedly stated, per a PTI report, “Gas cylinders are pricey, but their cost will decline. People will also find employment.

What will transpire, however, if Bangladeshis and Rohingya migrants begin to live close by, as they did in Delhi? With gas cylinders, what will you do? For the Bengalis, prepare fish?” Paresh had expressed regret for his comments and clarified them in an interview with Mid-Day.

Aditya made his acting debut in the 2020 Zee5 film Bamfaad. “The struggles are there, but it is easier once you get your foot in the door,” he told Hindustan Times. I hope I can meet people I want to work with because I am my father’s son.

My parents’ advice has taught me how to approach them most effectively. I can have the directors and producers I want to work with reading my writing because I am a writer.

That is a benefit all by itself. Most people do not have access to that kind of availability. But once I have access, my output must represent me.
