On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation thru ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ where he spoke about how culture allows people to resolve the pain of a crisis.

PM on Devi Annapurna’s ancient idol:

Every Indian will feel happy to say that Devi Annapurna’s ancient idol is being returned to India from Canada. This idol was stolen from a temple in Varanasi almost 100 years ago in 1913 later smuggled out of the country,” PM Modi said as he started his address.

PM Modi speaks about Heritage week: 

This coincided with Heritage Week which offers an opportunity for culture lovers to look back at the past and explore the significant stages of history. We saw individuals celebrating Heritage Week in creative ways amid the Covid-19 crisis,” he added.”

Furthermore, the Prime Minister said that during emergencies, culture is of great benefit and serves as an emotional recharge.

The culture and scriptures of India were still a source of attraction for the whole world. In pursuit of them, some individuals came to India and stayed here for life. Although some head to their countries as India’s cultural representatives, on Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi stated.

PM Modi on Jonas Masetti:

He then shared the story with Jonas Masetti, who is teaching Brazil’s Vedanta and Bhagavad Gita lesson.

“I was introduced to the work of Jonas Masetti, who is often referred to as ‘Vishvanath.’ In Brazil, Jonas gives Vedanta as well as Gita lessons. He runs an organization named ‘Vishvavidya’ which is based about an hour’s drive from Rio De Janeiro in the hills of Petrópolis,’ says PM Modi.

“He added, “Jonas worked for his stock market business after completing mechanical engineering. He was attracted to Indian culture later on, especially to Vedanta. In India, he studied Vendanta and spent 4 years in Coimbatore at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam. For his effort, I congratulate Jonas.

The Mun Ki Baat: 

Previously on November 17, PM Modi invited people to make suggestions for the 71st version of its program.

Mann ki Baat’ is a monthly radio program presented to the nation by the Prime Minister that is transmitted on the last Sunday of each month.
