On Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, PM Narendra Modi will officially open the National Youth Festival in Hubballi.

The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs, as well as Sports, are working with the Government of Karnataka to put on the 26th annual National Youth Festival, which will take place until January 16 (Monday) in Hubballi-Dharwad.

According to officials, the festival is held annually to give talented young people exposure at the national level and inspire them to contribute to the country’s development.

They added that the festival’s theme this year is “Viksit Yuva- Viksit Bharat,” which brings diverse cultures from across the nation to a single stage and unites the participants in the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”.

At the inaugural event, where the prime minister will discuss his vision with them, more than 30,000 young people are anticipated to attend. 

Over 7,500 youth envoys from all over India who do respected leaders in their respective fields of endeavour come together for the five-day event to participate in various learning activities.

According to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, young delegates from 28 states, as well as 8 union territories, will attend this youth festival to display their talent.

The national youth festival is being conducted in the north Karnataka region for the first time, and it will help the youth to rise in all fields, according to him. “There will be a variety of sports and cultural activities during all five days,” he said.

He stated that people could stand on either side of the road from the airport to the venue, even though there won’t be a roadshow by the PM during the visit. 

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports reports that the festival’s activities will include panel discussions on timely subjects like student-centric governance and Digital India, adventure sports competitions, traditional sports exhibitions, and competitive cultural events in which troupes from various states compete.

Non-competitive events include Yuva Kriti, an annual social development fair, Adventure Festival, Suvichar, and Young Artists Camp, among many others. 

A “YOGATHON” is scheduled for January 15 (Sunday) from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, involving five lakh participants from 31 different Karnataka districts.

A “Youth Summit” will be held, featuring two-way conversations on topics like the future of work, industry, innovation, 21st-century skills, climate change as well as disaster risk reduction, peacebuilding and reconciliation, and shared future youth in democracy and governance. 

According to officials, this year’s festival is observed as a “Green Youth Festival,” with only reusable cutlery, napkins, and other supplies.

Water refilling stations have been set up to reduce disposables, and all the souvenirs, medals, and stationery are made of reusable materials.
