PM Modi Takes Veiled Dig at Rahul Gandhi in Vadodara

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared to take an indirect swipe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during a public address in Vadodara, Gujarat, contrasting what he called the “noise of lies” with the youth of India’s commitment to truth. The remarks came as Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth more than ₹35,000 crore at the “NaMo for Viksit Bharat” event.

A Pointed Message on Truth and Misinformation

Without naming Gandhi directly, Modi said that people spreading falsehoods can be found at every street corner, but that the youth of India moves forward carrying the call of truth with them. The comment was widely read as a reference to Gandhi’s ongoing “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign, which has raised concerns over issues such as examination paper leaks and controversies surrounding the NEET medical entrance exam. The timing and phrasing of the remark suggested a direct rhetorical counter to the opposition campaign’s messaging around student grievances.

Solar Push Highlighted as Jobs Driver

Beyond the political jab, Modi used the Vadodara platform to spotlight the government’s solar energy push. He noted that more than 5.5 million families across the country have installed rooftop solar plants, with over 1.1 million of these installations in Gujarat alone. The Prime Minister framed the initiative as a major employment generator, pointing to job creation across solar panel production, installation services, and ongoing maintenance work as the scheme scales up nationwide.

The Vadodara event formed part of Modi’s broader outreach ahead of continued political sparring with the Congress party, blending large-scale infrastructure announcements with pointed rhetorical messaging aimed at the opposition’s youth-focused campaigns
