Her exceptionally sharp and scrupulous style has established her strong presence as a journalist in the industry.
Amidst the much noise that is generated amongst Indian media today, there are some journalists who have not only proved their mettle and taken one step ahead in their careers, but also delivered consistent results in the form of relevant information, and amongst them are women journalists who have gone beyond their call of duty and emerged as the best in the field. We have in our midst one such dynamic woman journalist who has stayed true to her profession and changed the face of Indian journalism, she is Pooja Sachdeva.
Pooja was born and brought up in Haryana, where her did her secondary schooling with science as her major and then completed her graduation and post-graduation in mass communication. Her early days, when she was trying to set her foot in the industry, were full of challenges as she started her career at the age of seventeen soon after finishing her junior college. Starting off as an Emcee hosting shows and simultaneously completing her education by even doing a part time job to sustain herself, life was not a bed of roses for her. The pay was not good, but she got to learn a lot during the five years which helped her gain a rich experience.
During her days as an anchor, she hosted shows for big
brands like Magma, PNB, Eichers, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, IFB, INTEC and
many more. She was also extremely good at writing as she was a part of many
literary events during her college days. Her articles were published in Dainik
Bhaskar and Jagran on many occasions and her work was honoured by the governer
of Odisha. “my talent got noticed and I got selected in the campus placement
for Zee News. However, her interests lied in pursuing a career as an anchor,
and that made her resign from the job and lookout for better opportunities in
the field of her choice.
Her career picked up pace when she moved to Hisar in 2019, where she got recognition as a reputed anchor. She joined Janta TV as an anchor which was her foremost job in that field. “the transition from entertainment to news was not easy, but I took up the challenge and worked my way out to be the best,” says Pooja. She worked as a morning time anchor and her work was much appreciated by the viewers giving her confidence a big boost to move ahead in her career. Soon her career graph zoomed upwards when she joined Khabar Fast News channel as a prime time anchor and producer. She is currently the youngest anchor in the unit who is known for hosting debates and discussions and is extremely quick-witted making her all the more popular amongst viewers.
She says that coming from a place like Haryana and setting
up a career in the industry has not been a cakewalk as there are a very few
journalists from this part of India who have made it to this level. She stands
as a true inspiration for many women out there who want to achieve the best in
their careers, just like hers.
