PM Narendra Modi will have meetings with top business leaders of Silicon Valley in the East Room of the White House.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have meetings with the chief executives of Indian and American companies today at the White House to discuss creation, investment, and manufacturing in different technology sectors, including Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors, and space.

PM Narendra Modi to discuss innovations with business executives:

The most outstanding business leaders, including Boeing, Amazon and Google CEOs, will assemble in the East Room at 9:05 pm IST to meet with the Indian prime minister. After the discussions, Vice President Kamala Harris and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will host Modi for a luncheon.

Modi’s meeting with Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun arrives a day after the plane manufacturing firm reported a $100 million investment in infrastructure and programs to train pilots in India.

The announcement arrives on the heels of Air India signing orders for over 200 planes earlier this week from Boeing, which have 20 787 Dreamliners, ten 777Xs, and 190 737 MAX narrowbody aeroplanes.

On Thursday, the prime minister had bilateral talks featuring technology cooperation prominently.

“Technology featured in talks, not in a limited way but technology cooperation across the ecosystem. This included technology transfer, services and working together in research, among other domains,” Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra stated.

The bilateral discussions were followed by PM Modi’s speech to the joint session of the US Congress, becoming the first Indian PM to do so twice. He first addressed a joint session of the US Congress in 2016.

Around 400 guests were invited to the dinner President Biden and First Lady Jill hosted at a specially adorned pavilion on the South Lawn of the White House.

At the state dinner, technology honchos like Apple’s Tim Cook, Google’s Sundar Pichai and Microsoft’s Satya Nadella rubbed shoulders with high-profile visitors from different fields.
