Prince Yadav’s Historic Six in T20I Debut Against Ireland

Prince Yadav’s Historic Six in T20I Debut Against Ireland

Prince Yadav marked his T20I debut for India with a memorable moment on Sunday, June 28, becoming only the third Indian batter to smash a six off the very first ball of his international career. The Delhi-based fast bowler struck Harry Tector’s delivery for a boundary in the final delivery of India’s innings during the second T20I against Ireland, cementing his place in Indian cricket history alongside Suryakumar Yadav and Ramandeep Singh.

Impressive All-Round Performance

Despite the excitement surrounding his batting moment, Yadav’s true impact came with the ball. The 26-year-old, who earned his maiden India call-up following an exceptional IPL 2026 campaign with Lucknow Super Giants, delivered an outstanding bowling performance. He claimed three crucial wickets while conceding just 22 runs across four overs, showcasing his credentials as a frontline pacer for the Indian team.

A Narrow Loss Despite Stellar Effort

Unfortunately, Yadav’s heroics proved insufficient as India fell agonizingly short by just one run, chasing Ireland’s 155-run total. Playing under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, the Indian side struggled after losing early wickets and couldn’t quite reach the target despite their best efforts. Coming in at number 11, Yadav remained unbeaten on six runs, but the team’s inability to build substantial partnerships cost them the match.

This debut performance has certainly put Yadav in the spotlight, establishing him as a promising talent who can contribute meaningfully with both bat and ball in India’s T20I setup.
