Priya Ahuja big statement on recent TMKOC controversy
Priya Ahuja has expressed her surprise that no one is standing up for Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal’s charges against the makers of their hit TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
For quite some time, the comedy programme has been making headlines. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal accused show producers of sexual harassment a few weeks earlier.
Since then, only a few actors from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have spoken out about the matter, with a few supporting her accusation and the majority siding with the producers.
Priya Ahuja on Jennifer Mistry controversy:
In an interview, Priya Ahuja Rajda, who played Rita’s reporter on the show, said ETimes, “I’m very surprised nobody supported Jennifer because she had many close friends on the set of the show.”
She was the one who was there for me when I was down. I can certify that she was never abusive or disobedient on the show’s sets.” Priya said that Jennifer brought the show’s former director, Malav Rajda, and her close together.
Malav and Priya have been married for thirteen years. He recently left the show after 14 years as its director. She took a break from her duties.
Both saw their departure as a natural step in their careers and refused to linger on any disputes that may have occurred on set.
Priya supports Jennifer:
Priya offered Jennifer her support when she presented her charges. Mandar Chandwadkar, alleged to have been close friends with Jennifer, stated that he had no idea she encountered such difficulties on the show set.
Later, Jennifer expressed her unhappiness with Mandar’s words, telling Pinkvilla that she understands if he cannot support her because the production company still employs him. He should not, however, have talked against her, she added.
Disha Vakani, Priya Ahuja, Shailesh Lodha, and Jennifer have all spoken out against the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since their departure. The show has been live for almost a decade.
