Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has promised action after a video of desecration at a Morinda gurdwara, Punjab, appeared on social media.

In the video, a Sikh guy can enter the sanctum sanctorum of Morinda Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib, assaulting two granthis (priests) and desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib.

According to BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who tweeted the incident footage, the youth first assaulted the Granthi and desecrated the Guru Granth Sahib.

Sirsa also accused the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP administration in Punjab of supporting “lawlessness” in a tweet.

As the footage of the sacrilege bid went viral, CM Mann promised action and vowed no one would be spared.

“The incident at Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib in Morinda is highly condemnable, and no one will be spared.” “Anyone who commits blasphemy will face severe punishment,” the chief minister stated in a tweet.

Captain Amarinder Singh, a former Punjab chief minister and BJP leader, condemned the crime and called the Punjab Police to capture the perpetrator and punish him harshly.

In a statement, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Sikhs highly respect Guru Granth Sahib and that it is unfortunate incidences of sacrilege continue.

“The matter must be investigated so that the forces behind this incident can be exposed.” “It will not be good if the government and the police try to cover it up,” Dhami remarked.
