Rahul Gandhi predicts Congress victory over BJP in Gujarat

On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi visited Gujarat and met families and relatives of the Rajkot gaming zone fire disaster targets and Congress employees in Ahmedabad.

On Saturday, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, confidently asserted that the Congress party will defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the next Gujarat assembly elections.

He drew parallels to the recent victory of the INDIA bloc candidate in Ayodhya during the Lok Sabha polls.

Visit to Gujarat and Support for Fire Tragedy Victims

During his visit to Gujarat, Gandhi met with the families and relatives of victims of the Rajkot gaming zone fire tragedy. He also engaged with Congress workers in Ahmedabad, emphasizing his party’s commitment to overturning BJP’s dominance in the 2027 assembly election.

Response to BJP Threats and Office Damage

Addressing a convention of party workers in Ahmedabad, Gandhi responded to recent conflicts with the BJP. He referenced a clash outside the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress state headquarters in Ahmedabad, where BJP’s youth wing protested against his remarks in Parliament.

“They (BJP) have challenged us by threatening us and damaging our office. Let me tell you that we are together going to break their government like they damaged our office,” Gandhi declared.

Confidence in Defeating BJP

Gandhi expressed confidence in Congress’s ability to contest and win in Gujarat, drawing on their success in Ayodhya.

He also criticized the BJP-led government for its handling of the Ram Temple construction and the new international airport, highlighting inadequate compensation for those whose land was acquired for the projects.

Gandhi suggested that the absence of local Ayodhya residents from the Ram Temple inauguration contributed to the BJP’s defeat in the constituency.

Critique of Modi’s Prospects in Ayodhya

Gandhi further claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had considered contesting the Lok Sabha poll from Ayodhya but was advised against it due to potential defeat, which could have ended his political career.

“PM Modi wanted to contest the Lok Sabha poll from Ayodhya, but his surveyors said he would be defeated, and his political career would end,” Gandhi stated.
