On Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked the government about its strategy for coping with India’s coronavirus pandemic. He also picked up a jibe on Twitter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is going to keep his Mann ki Baat today.

It’s a justified question, but how long is India going to wait for a response from the government? The ‘Mann ki Baat’ would have been Hope Covid ‘s access policy, Gandhi tweeted. He also attached a screenshot of a Covid-19 vaccine production news report.

During the 69th edition of his ‘Mann ki Baat’ program, PM Modi will address the country. The outreach talk concentrates on several issues.

The latest episode of Mann Ki Baat comes the day after the pre-recorded video address by the Prime Minister to the UN General Assembly, where he expressed his concern about the pace of change of the United Nations in its response to challenges such as terrorism and the pandemic of Covid-19.

PM Modi assured the international community that India’s development and delivery capability of coronavirus vaccines will assist all humanity in combating the pandemic.

As the world’s most effective vaccine producing country, today, I want to give the global community one more assurance. The manufacturing and distribution potential of India’s vaccine will be used to assist all humanity in fighting this crisis. We are going forward in India and our neighbourhood with phase 3 clinical trials in India.
India will also help all countries in developing their cold chain and vaccine delivery storage capacities, he said.

Even during these challenging periods of the raging pandemic, PM Modi said that India’s pharmaceutical industry had sent essential medicines to more than 150 countries.

Gandhi had previously criticised the Covid-19 vaccine centre, saying that a plan should have been in place by now and displaying the current “unpreparedness” of the government is “alarming.”

He had requested that an inclusive and equitable vaccine access policy be established by the government to ensure its availability and equal distribution.
