Rakesh Jhunjhunwala : Titan alone is worth Rs 11,000 crore, followed by Star Health and Metro Brands, which total more than Rs 10,000 crore.

Many companies in which Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had large stakes saw some selling in early trade on August 16, when markets opened following his death over the weekend.

Aptech, in which he owned 23%, fell nearly 5%, Star Health fell more than 1%, and Metro Brands fell 0.5 percent. Crisil was also down slightly.

Despite this, some stocks gained ground. Nazara Tech increased by 3%, Titan increased by about 1%, and Fortis Healthcare increased by about 1%. NCC also increased by more than a percent.

Jhunjhunwala died on August 14, at the age of 62, in Mumbai from a cardiac arrest. He had been suffering from heart, kidney, also diabetes problems for many years.

Some of these stocks have been the most profitable for Jhunjhunwala. Titan alone is worth Rs 11,000 crore, followed by Star Health and Metro Brands, which total more than Rs 10,000 crore.

His total stake in 32 stocks is worth approximately Rs 32,000 crore.

“His investment style changed between 1990 and 2020, but his breakout year was 2003 when he picked Titan, Crisil, and Lupin, all of which turned into 100 baggers,” said Ramesh Damani, another ace investor, and Jhunjhunwala’s friend.

Except for the recently launched Akasa Air, in which the Jhunjhuwala family holds a 45 percent stake through trusts, there aren’t many stocks the legendary investor holds in the unlisted market. Most of his unlisted portfolio companies, including Star Health, Metro Brands, and Nazara Technologies, have gone public in the last few years.

He had previously admitted that his unlisted portfolio made him more money than his listed stocks. “I am pleased to inform you that the return on my unlisted portfolio exceeds the return on my listed portfolio. I also have long-term investments of 10-12 years there. “In March 2021, he stated.
