Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama and Yash’s Ravana face off in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic.

The much-anticipated trailer of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, was unveiled on October 15, 2026, offering audiences a glimpse into a grand cinematic retelling of Valmiki’s timeless epic. With Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as the formidable Ravana, the film promises a spectacular clash between good and evil.

In the trailer, Ranbir’s Rama is depicted as the divine incarnation of Lord Vishnu, solemnly pledging across the three realms to eradicate darkness and defeat Ravana. His oath sets the tone for an epic battle, as he vanquishes monstrous rakshasas in the forest with unwavering resolve. In contrast, Yash’s Ravana emerges as a powerful antagonist, declaring himself ruler of the three worlds, emboldened by a boon from Lord Brahma. His scenes highlight his dominance, including a fierce confrontation with Indra, king of the devas.

The promo also captures several iconic moments from the Ramayana. Viewers witness Jatayu’s valiant attempt to stop Ravana during the abduction of Goddess Sita, played by Sai Pallavi, alongside tender emotional exchanges between Sita and Rama. The demoness Tadaka’s pursuit of Prince Rama and a striking cameo by Lord Parshuram wielding his axe add further depth to the narrative. The trailer culminates with Ravana overpowering an entire army, underscoring his immense strength and menace.

The ensemble cast enriches the film’s scale, featuring Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, and notable appearances by Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Shobana, Saurabh Sachdeva, Faisal Malik, and Lara Dutta. Produced by Namit Malhotra under DNEG and Prime Focus Studios, with Yash also serving as co-producer, the project is envisioned as a two-part saga that blends mythological grandeur with modern cinematic spectacle.

Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is scheduled for a theatrical release in India on January 5, 2026, followed by an international rollout on November 6, 2026. With its blend of emotional storytelling, divine battles, and star power, the film aims to bring one of India’s greatest epics to life for a global audience.
