Ranbir Kapoor apologises for his ‘phailaod’ remark about Alia Bhatt

Ranbir Kapoor apologises for his ‘phailaod’ remark about Alia Bhatt

‘My sense of humour occasionally falls flat on my face.’

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were doing an Instagram live for Brahmastra when the actor commented on his pregnant wife.

Brahmastra is being promoted by Bollywood actors and soon-to-be parents Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Ayan Mukerji directs the film. They recently held a Facebook live session for the purpose, and a comment made by Kapoor about Alia did not go down well on the internet. Ranbir apologised for his remark about Alia at the Brahmastra press conference in Chennai.

SS Rajamouli, Nagarjuna, and Ranbir Kapoor gathered in Chennai to promote Brahmastra.

He stated at the promotions, “First and foremost, I adore my wife with all of my heart. It’s a joke that didn’t go over well. It was not my intent. When I later told Alia about it, she laughed it off. My sense of humour occasionally fails me. I apologise to those who were offend.”

During a live session, the stars discussed why they are not heavily promoting Brahmastra compared to other films. Ranbir Kapoor reacted quickly by pointing to Alia’s growing baby bump and saying, “Well, I can say somebody has phailaod,” referring to her belly. Both the actress and the director appeared stunned. This video has gone viral on social media, and some Reddit users criticised Kapoor’s remark for making fun of Alia’s weight gain.

Brahmastra, starring Alia and Ranbir Kapoor, will be release on September 9. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy appear in the film.
