Read Amitabh Bachchan clarification on Helmet matter
Amitabh Bachchan has clarified after Mumbai traffic cops took notice of a recent pic of him riding a pillion on a bike without a helmet.
On Tuesday, Amitabh wrote on his Blog, “Aahhhhhhh.. the impotence of content… Much has been made about the bike picture…! How do you move on the street with strangers…? There is no security…? You are loved, take care ..? And then .. no helmet .. !!!!!!”
“The fact of the matter is that this is an on-location shoot on the streets of Mumbai,” he added.It is Sunday… formal permission has been obtained for a shoot in a lane in Ballard Estate… authorization is sought for Sunday because all offices are closed and there is no public traffic.
One lane in the area has been sealed off by police permission for shooting… the lane is only 30-40 metres long… The dress I’m wearing is my film costume…Aand.. I’m just kidding around by hopping on the bike of a crew member.. I’m not even moving, but I’m giving the idea that I’m travelling to save time.. (laughing emoji).”
“But certainly, if there was a punctuality issue… and I would wear a helmet and respect all the norms and regulations of the traffic guidelines… “I am not the only one who has does this..
I saw Akshay Kumar do it to get to a place on time.. wore helmet etc., on the scooter of his Security person.. no one could recognize.. and it was quick and efficient.. and it worked well..”
Amitabh Bachchan concluded, “Thank you everybody for your concern, care, and love, as well as your spanking and trolling…!!! Ef.. more delays.. uff this is getting out of hand.. but had some really important meetings, and they took time..so retired early.. now here I am and going to work.. shall try not to postpone the Blog..And I apologize for generating concern and providing the erroneous impression of breaking traffic rules… I did not… I love all of you.”
Amitabh shared a snapshot of himself riding a bike with a stranger on Sunday. “Thank you for the ride buddy.. don’t know you.. but you obliged and got me on time to work location.. faster and in avoidance of the unsolvable traffic jams.. thank you capped, shorts and yellowed T-shirt owner,” he captioned the image. Neither Amitabh nor the rider were wearing helmets in the photo.
Following the publication of these photographs on social media, several people contacted Mumbai Police, urging them to take action.
The Mumbai Police Department responded to some of them by tweeting, “We have shared this with the traffic branch.”
