Robbers charged for threatening brothers of Alexander Arnold and Marcus Rashford

Violent armed thieves who attacked the brothers of Premier League players Trent Alexander Arnold and Marcus Rashford in a horrifying raid have been imprisoned.

When the robbers came in, Tyler Alexander Arnold and Rashford were there in Little Rock Caribbean Cafe in Moss Side, Manchester, in January 2019.

Jail for thieves who attacked the brothers of Alexander Arnold and Marcus Rashford:

Talleko Lemonious, 28, Tariq Dervan, 22, and Romario Harmer, 21, were sentenced to five theft counts. The robbers were detained at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court.

Stephen McNally, charging, told the court the targets had been having breakfast with three others at the cafe before planning to go to Brighton to watch a Liverpool football game.

The court attended the men, who were armed with a firearm, machete and baseball bat, and came in shouting, “Get your watches off”, as cafe staff ran in panic.

During the attack, Tyler Alexander-Arnold was forced to give over the keys to his £70,000 Range Rover car.

Dane Rashford had a sawn-off handgun right at his face, and his £22,000 Rolex Daytona watch snatched by the gang of masked bandits. The court heard both guys were hit to the head with the bat and needed stitches after the attack.

The burglars escaped in the Range Rover, but the court was told it was equipped with a tracker. The trio were charged by cops an hour later at a house almost two miles away in Fallowfield, south Manchester.

At the house, police saw items looted in the robbery, including watches, wallets, and ski masks, while the sawn-off firearm hidden in a nearby bush had Harmer’s DNA on it.

Passing verdict, Mr Recorder Peter Horgan said this was “obviously a brazen and intended robbery in broad daylight”. Dervan, of Staffordshire, was detained for five-and-a-half years, while Harmer, of Old Trafford, Manchester, was convicted to four years.
