Saif Ali Khan Attacker: Taimur Urged Forgiveness, Says Kareena Kapoor

Actor Kareena Kapoor has revealed that her son Taimur played a key role in shaping the family’s response to the January 2025 attack on Saif Ali Khan at their Mumbai home. Speaking to journalist Barkha Dutt on the YouTube channel Mojo Story, she said the young boy urged his father to forgive the man accused of stabbing him.

Kareena said nobody in the family could have imagined such an incident, adding that justice means different things to different people. According to her, both Taimur and Saif believe the accused deserves forgiveness, and it was Taimur who first told his father, “Abba, forgive him.”

Why the Family Chose Compassion

The family’s stance, Kareena explained, was influenced by what they learned about the accused. A police officer who visited their home reportedly told them the man had been looking for money. She said he had also told the nanny he wanted Rs 1 crore to send to his mother, who needed surgery. Learning this, the family felt the incident might not have happened had circumstances been different, and that was when Taimur made his plea.

Saif suffered multiple stab wounds, including one near his spine, and has earlier acknowledged the physical and emotional toll of the ordeal. Even so, he has expressed a wish to forgive the attacker, citing economic desperation as a contributing factor.

On the professional front, Kareena stars in Daayra, which released on September 18. She plays DCP Ajooni Kohli in the film, which also features Prithviraj Sukumaran.
