‘Happy then, alive now,’ says Saisha Shinde of life after transformation.

“I share all this with you because my journey is far from over,” fashion designer Saisha Shinde wrote on Instagram.

Saisha Shinde, a fashion designer who came out as a transwoman in 2021, has opened up about her transformation and how it has helped her come alive. The designer, formerly known as Swapnil Shinde, recently posted a note on Instagram.

Saisha, who designed Harnaaz Sandhu’s finale gown for the 70th Miss Universe, said she is frequently questioned about her decision. “People frequently ask me, ‘You were such a handsome man… why did you do this to yourself…’ and my answer is often… it takes courage to accept who you are within, and even more courage to fight for and achieve the body you were not born into!” she added.

“I spent the next few years thinking that I was attracted to men because I was gay. But it wasn’t until six years ago that I finally accepted myself, and it’s only today that I accept you.” Of course, I’m not a homosexual. “I am a transwoman,” wrote the designer.

“I share all this with you because my journey is far from over, today, I feel a sense of serenity I have longed for all my life,” Shinde said of how “coming out” to the public helped her.

“It hasn’t been easy accepting and sharing my truth,” Shinde said, adding that her father has always supported her. “I’m blessed to have been born to a father who has been an endless source of strength. A family who has always rallied around my happiness, and friends who have rallied through the toughest times,” she wrote.
