The Samsung Galaxy S21 series reportedly receives the November 2022 Android security patch in a dozen European countries. Earlier this month, the Galaxy S21 series received an update to Android 13-based One UI 5.0 and the October 2022 Android security patch. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are among the smartphones that will receive the latest security patch. The most recent update addresses several vulnerabilities related to smartphone security.
With the South Korean conglomerate focusing on ensuring that the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 reaches all eligible devices. Including smartphones from the Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Z, and Galaxy A series. Android security patches for most devices have taken much longer than usual, according to SamMobile.
The November 2022 Android security patch was reportedly applied to the Galaxy S21 FE less than a week ago.
Samsung updated the Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series handsets to Android 13-based One UI 5.0 earlier this month. The South Korean company unveiled the One UI 5.0 update at its Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2022 a month ago.
Previously, Samsung released the October update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series.
Which included support for new features such as digital car keys in South Korea, general bug fixes. Security updates, and performance improvements.
The digital key feature is compatible with select Audi, BMW, Genesis, and Ford models. Allowing users to register their car keys with Samsung Pass. Once registered, users can sign in to websites and apps on their Samsung phone while in car mode by using biometric verification. The user can also use Near Field Communication to open and lock the car doors. The phone can also start the car’s engine by placing it on the car’s wireless charging pad.
