Shah Rukh Khan hospitalized for heat stroke in Gujarat

Shah Rukh Khan was in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to watch an Indian Premier League (IPL) game of his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is currently receiving treatment at K D Hospital in Ahmedabad after suffering from a heat stroke. 

The actor was admitted on Wednesday, following his attendance at an Indian Premier League (IPL) match involving his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Current Health Status

As of now, the private hospital has not released an official statement regarding Khan’s health condition. However, Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat mentioned, “Khan is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. It is possible that he may get discharged today.”

Severe Heatwave in Gujarat

The hospitalization coincides with a severe heatwave affecting several parts of Gujarat over the past few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad experienced extreme heat on Tuesday and Wednesday, with maximum temperatures recorded at 45.2 and 45.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.

IPL Attendance and Celebrations

Khan was in Ahmedabad to support his team, KKR, during their IPL Qualifier 1 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. KKR secured a spot in the IPL final with a convincing eight-wicket victory. 

Khan celebrated his team’s success with a lap of honour, accompanied by his children Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. Videos shared on the official KKR X account showed the actor greeting fans and players at the stadium.

Upcoming IPL Final

KKR is set to play the IPL final in Chennai on Sunday. Despite his health scare, fans are hopeful that Shah Rukh Khan will be well enough to attend the crucial match and support his team.
