Shamshera Box Office Occupancy news Day 2: Film sees a drop in footfalls; collections on Saturday are likely to collapse into the single digits

Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, was released yesterday to lukewarm reviews. The Yash Raj Films venture, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt. And Vaani Kapoor, has recently been one of the most talked about and heavily promoted films. Hence, it was expected that Shamshera would begin with a bang. However, despite the massive promotion and hype and the massive 4,350 screen count. The film got off to a slower than anticipated start, earning only Rs. 10.25 crore on its opening day.

On its second day, reports indicate that the film’s occupancy has dropped further in the morning and early afternoon shows. Shamshera had lower footfalls in specific territories on its second day than on its first. With morning and early afternoon shows performing poorly. The burden of increasing the film’s box office falls squarely on the evening and night shows. According to industry predictions, Shamshera will rely heavily on positive word of mouth and walk-in bookings for evening and night shows.

However, based on current occupancy trends, Shamshera’s Day 2 collections are likely to be in the single digits. In that case, the film will struggle to post a respectable overall collection figure in its opening weekend.
