Nine special avatars of goddess Durga are worshipped on each day of Navratri. Known as Parvati and a reincarnation of Sati, Maa Shailputri rides a bull and is represented with a lotus in one hand and a trident in any other. Her name is Shail (mountain) + Putri (daughter), approach daughter of the mountains.
Goddess Shailputri is taken into consideration to be a Devi of root chakra or Muladhara Chakra. Therefore, the moon, the provider of all fortunes, is governed through Maa Shailputri and by worshipping her, any unwell consequences of the moon may be conquered via her devotees.
The tale of Shailputri
Known as Sati Bhavani, Parvati or Hemavati, the daughter of Himavat – the Himalayas king, she became Sati in her previous beginning.
Being an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, she becomes granted the desire of being his consort. However, her father, Daksha Prajapati but did not approve of her marriage with Lord Shiva.
Once her father organized a Yajna but didn’t invite Sati and Shiva. So she went to the rite alone, and angered by her father’s complaint of her husband Lord Shiva, she immolated herself inside the sacrificial yajna fireplace.
In the next beginning, she became the daughter of Himavat and became named Parvati. In this start too, she got married to Lord Shiva.

Kalash Sthapana or Ghatasthapana
Ghatasthapana is the invocation of Goddess Shakti and is one of the maximum essential rituals during Navratri marking the beginning of the 9-day competition.
The maximum auspicious time for Ghatasthapana is the first one-third of the day at the same time as Pratipada is triumphing.
If this time is not to be had because of a few motives, then Ghatasthapana can be carried out at some stage in Abhijit Muhurta. It has to be ideally finished before Hindu midday whilst Pratipada is prevailing, in keeping with Drikpanchang.
The muhurat for Ghatasthapana on October 7, Thursday is between 06:17 am to 07:07 am, in keeping with Drikpanchang. The Abhijit Muhurat can be from eleven:45 am to 12:32 pm.
During the Ghatasthapana puja, a pot is installed at a sanctified region at domestic, and a lamp is kept inside the pot for nine days. While the pot symbolizes the universe, the uninterrupted flame of the lamp symbolizes Durga.
The gadgets which can be considered holy are used during Ghatasthapana. Mud and Navadhanya seeds are located in a pan to which water is delivered.
A kalasha full of Ganga Jal and some coins, supari, akshat (uncooked rice and turmeric powder) is placed in the water. Then 5 leaves of the mango tree are positioned around the Kalash, after which it’s far protected with a coconut.
