To avenge the murder of 22 Rajputs, an MP was killed and
several members of the Thakur community of Behmai village in Madhya Pradesh raped Phoolandevi for three weeks.
To avenge this, Phool shot dead 22 people standing in line at a wedding wearing a police uniform on February 14, 1981. This massacre is known as the Behmai massacre. The dacoit Phoolandevi then surrendered.
Phoolan became an MP after her release from prison. From here, things get trickier for Sher Singh. Phulandevi was shot dead by Sher Singh on July 25, 2001, in front of a government residence in Delhi.
Sher Singh surrendered to Dehradun police two days after the incident. Sher Singh told police that he had killed Phoolandevi to avenge the Behmai massacre.

On trial for murder and remained in Tihar Jail for three years. Rana escaped from jail on February 17, 2004.
He then stayed at a hotel in Moradabad and demanded Rs one lakh from a relative. He arrived in Bangladesh after a two-month stay in India for a visa.
Bought a satellite phone here for Rs 16,500. Since the phone could not be tracked, he could easily talk to the family. Meanwhile, Sher Singh used to get 15-20 thousand rupees per month from his family. From Bangladesh, he went to Dubai and then to Afghanistan.
Prithviraj Chauhan’s bones were brought from Ghazni.
Sher Singh Rana had gone to Afghanistan. He went to Ghazni and brought the remains of the 11th century Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan to India.
Meanwhile, Sher Singh made a 40-minute video and uploaded it on social media. This video shows how Rana took the bones. Rana had been absconding from jail for two years.
Rana was arrested from a guest house in Kolkata in 2006 after coming to India from Afghanistan on interim bail. A Delhi court later sentenced Rana on August 14, 2014, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs one lakh for killing Phoolandevi.
However, the image of Sher Singh changed after the bones of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan were brought to India at the risk of their lives. People started recognizing him not as a murderer but as a good person. The Hindu Kshatriya Sena praised his bravery. The Delhi High Court then granted interim bail.
After this incident, Sher Singh built
a temple of Prithviraj Chauhan in Pilkhuwa in Ghaziabad with the help of his mother. Prithviraj’s bones have been placed here even today.
During the 2012 elections
Sher Singh formed a party of the upper castes, and the party was named ‘Rashtriya Jan Lok Party.’ In 2012, he contested against Suresh Rana from Uttar Pradesh and lost.
Sher Singh, who turned down Rs 10 crore dowry
married Pratima Rana, daughter of former Madhya Pradesh MLA Rana Pratap Singh, on February 20, 2018, at a hotel in Delhi. Rana has given Rs 10 crore 31 lakh as dowry in this marriage, but Rana refused and completed the marriage ceremony by taking a silver coin.
Sher Singh has also written.
a book called ‘Jail Diary.’ The book deals with jail days and escapes from Tihar Jail. The book also talks about the murder of Phoolandevi.
