Society doesn’t respect you if you’re unmarried. Neena Gupta told her daughter Masaba.

Actor Neena Gupta said that her daughter, Masaba, was interested in knowing why she wanted Vivek Mehra to be married with. Neena told her that marriage is important, as it is not easy to be valued in a society without it.

She said she didn’t have to tell Masaba about the decision she made in 2008 to marry Vivek, a chartered accountant. But Masaba knew the intentions of her mother.

According to our sources, “Frankly, I didn’t have to tell her.” For eight to 10 years, Vivek and I have been around; he used to come down to my house in Mumbai, and I used to go to Delhi sometimes. But yes, to be exact, when I told Masaba I wanted to get married, she wanted to know why.

I told her that if you have to live in this society, marriage is necessary; otherwise, you will not receive respect.

Then Neena went on, “And Masaba understood me.” Masaba is a girl who, whether she likes it or not, would do something for her mother’s happiness. So, I haven’t been worrying. I just felt a little uncomfortable telling her that.

“The actor said,” Toh Bhai Dekho, woh apna kaam nahi chhodna chahte aur main apna kaam nahi chhodna chahti (So, he doesn’t want to leave his job, and I don’t want to leave mine), about keeping her long-distance relationship work.

. Often I left work, but after I got back, I realized work gives me tremendous happiness. Furthermore, we are not in the young stage where our children are tiny, or we have to produce children.

A lot later in your life, we even got married. “Often he says” tumko mere Saath rehna chahiye (you should live with me) as you are my wife, and then I tell him that you are my husband, aapko mere Saath rehna chahiye (you should live with me).

Neena recalled her first encounter with Vivek, which happened on an aeroplane, in a recent appearance on Neha Dhupia’s chat show. And, just imagine, that’s why I believe in fate and destiny so much.

I was in business class, upstairs, with Air India. He was behind somewhere, but, uh, a lady wanted him to change his seat, and that’s how he came in and sat next to me. My life would have been all that different,’ said Neena.

The actress was recently spotted playing a version of herself on Masaba Masaba’s Netflix. She will also be featured in the film Gwalior, with Gajraj Rao, and in the sports drama 83, in which she plays Kapil Dev’s Mother, Ranveer Singh.
