On Tuesday, there was the wedding reception of Oyo Founder Ritesh Agarwal in New Delhi; several were there, along with Billionaire investor and SoftBank Group Founder Masayoshi Son.

As the picture gets viral on the Internet, we can see Agarwal and his wife touching his feet and seeking blessings from him. It’s a common gesture by Indians to seek blessings from elders.

CEO and Founder of digital payments platform Paytm, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, also shared a picture of him with Masayoshi Son on Twitter. He shared another picture with a group of startup founders; you can also see Lenskart CEO Peyush Bansal.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma shared the picture by stating, Ultimate joy today, seeing Masa smiling, happy and enjoying his India trip. Everyone of us had tons of gratitude for his belief and support given to our Startups.

According to PTI, citing sources, during his day-long tour to the national capital, Son is said to have met the founders and CEOs of several prominent startups.

SoftBank has been a prominent as well as prolific investor in the Indian startup ecosystem, with an estimated USD 15 billion invested over the years. Ola, Oyo, Lenskart, and Meesho were among the notable early bets it made.

According to Bloomberg, Son’s intention to attend the wedding reception had complicated matters for the organizers because the Tokyo-based investor, who increasingly prefers Zoom calls to in-person meetings, had requested Covid-negative tests from those he was meeting.

Union Minister Prahlad Patel also shared photos of himself with Ritesh Agarwal and Geetansha Sood, wishing the couple the best.
