The Indian team Sreejesh trailed 1-3 with only eight minutes remaining in the game but rallied to tie the game 3-3 and force a penalty shootout.

After make some breathtaking saves in regulation time, Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh saved a penalty stroke in an exhilarating shootout. As the Indian men’s team defeated Olympic champions Belgium 5-4 in the first match of the 2-legged FIH Pro Hockey League here on Saturday.

The Indian team trailed 1-3 with only eight minutes remaining in the game. But rallied to tie the game 3-3 and force a penalty shootout. When the shoot-out was over, Sreejesh foiled an attempt by Alexander Hendrickx, who was on his third PS.

Sreejesh was brilliant under the bar, deflecting several attempts from the hosts throughout the game, but his two saves in the final quarter proved crucial.

The exciting first quarter ended in a goalless tie, with Sreehesh performing admirably under the bar, making two saves.

India had the first chance to score, but both short corners went begging as the home goalie foiled those attempts with his rock-solid defense.
