SRH Edge CSK by 10 Runs, Break Into IPL 2026 Top Four

Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a commanding 10-run victory over Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, climbing into the top four of the IPL 2026 points table. SRH owner Kavya Maran was visibly ecstatic in the stands, her wild celebrations capturing the excitement of the moment perfectly.

Electing to bat first after CSK won the toss, SRH posted 194/9 in their allotted overs. Abhishek Sharma blazed his way to 59 off just 22 balls, striking six fours and four sixes in a breathtaking cameo. Heinrich Klaasen provided the perfect complement with a composed 59 off 39 balls, giving SRH a competitive total to defend.

Death Bowling Seals the Deal

Chasing 195, CSK found themselves in the contest through Ayush Mhatre’s quickfire 30, Matthew Short’s steady 34, and Sarfaraz Khan’s brisk 25. However, SRH’s bowlers refused to let the game slip. Eshan Malinga claimed three wickets for 29 runs while Nitish Kumar Reddy chipped in with two for 31, strangling CSK’s chase in the back half of the innings.

Captain Ishan Kishan Full of Praise

SRH skipper Ishan Kishan heaped praise on his young bowling attack after the win, acknowledging their ability to execute well-thought-out plans without much intervention from the captain. He admitted SRH were perhaps 20–30 runs short but insisted the team remains focused on improving one game at a time rather than watching the standings.

SRH, now with three wins and three losses, face Delhi Capitals next on April 21. CSK slide to seventh with two wins and four defeats.
