Sunil Lahri AKA, Ramanand Sagar’s Doordarshan serial Ramayan’s Lakshman views on Adipurush movie.

Sunil Lahri, who played Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar’s Doordarshan serial Ramayan, remarked on the ongoing controversy surrounding Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush.

Lahri recently saw the film and stated it “left him sorely disappointed.” Sunil added that the picture, which also stars Saif Ali Khan, is not a “modern film” although it has “characters sporting tattoos and hairstyles of today.”

Sunil stated in a new interview that nothing about Adipurush ‘had logic’, from the characters to the execution. He pondered ‘for whom the film was made’ as he criticized the Adipurush creators for depicting Lord Hanuman’speak the language of the streets.

Lakshman views on Adipurush:

Sunil told news agency ANI that he had high hopes for the film because it had received so much attention. When the media contacted him, he stated that he would not make a statement until he had seen Adipurush, but after seeing the film, he “just didn’t know what to say.”

“I saw the movie,” he said. After seeing the film, I am quite disappointed… I thought, “Why did I go to see the movie?” The image did not appeal to me in the least. I enjoyed just two aspects of the picture: the background music and the photography. Aside from these two components, the film disappointed me greatly.”

Further, he stated in his review:

“I had no idea how to react to the picture after seeing it.” Putting myself aside, because I portrayed a part in Ramayan, even the folks in the theatre around me were dissatisfied with the film.

‘Let’s get up and go for a walk,’ said two women sitting beside each other. What kind of rubbish are we watching?’ ‘Let’s see the visual effects if nothing else,’ suggested the other woman. ‘What are they displaying in the name of Ramayana?’ asked a man beside me. Sunil stated the same in the same interview.
